There’s always a reason to smile !
It’s December already and we’re stacking up reasons to celebrate. There’s no doubt, it’s been a tough year and plenty of challenges await us in 2021. But, as it draws to a close, we can head into the last stretch, knowing we’ve made our mark.
There is reward in working to make sense of a chaotic and ever-changing world, and while the impact of COVID-19 has been less than ideal, there’s always a reason to smile.
A word from the director
Stay connected !
In a crisis situation, it is key to maintain the communication with everyone in the organisation
We are all rapidly learning how to navigate the current unfolding crisis - and connecting and learning from each other's rapidly growing experiences is more important than ever.
We are pleased to send you the latest news of this containment period.

Student life
KNIT, a new platform for student networking and socialising online
A few months ago, when I was stuck at home, I noticed that online events don't quite work for socialising. It was about the tools. You can't mingle, you can't approach people at the bar and start talking. And if there are too many people in the video call, most either go quiet or everyone is interrupting each other. In real life, in a large room, you'd see many conversations happening simultaneously in small groups of 2-5. People organically switch between those small groups as they please.
Thus, an idea was born. We sat down and started coming up with solutions of how to make this happen for online events. We knew Covid wouldn't be over in a week or two.
Now EURECOM students successfully used it to enable meaningful interactions between people during online events.
